Yet one more instance of an extraordinary individual snatched away at his prime. Girish, you had so many more ridges to traverse. Thank you for keeping us all grounded and sensitised to the importance of the greater common good. I am sure that Prayas has the strength and resilience to cope with your absence, and keep the torch burning bright as ever.

For those who care about equitable, sustainable life in India, Girish was our inspiration, teacher, conscience and friend. He had so many qualities that made him unique. A few that come to mind now: his compassion, his ego-less approach, his astute thinking and integrity, his smile and his complete open-ness to better ideas. He believed we could do better; his belief energized me to give more. He had a huge influence on my team-mates and me; we will miss him keenly. But his impact will still be felt strongly by coming generations, because of the work he set in motion and also because of all those who learned from him and will keep doing the work. Thank you to family and friends who supported Girish and his work these last 25 years; you also gave us a gift. Please accept my gratitude, and heartfelt condolences.

It is rare to have giants like Girish - it is equally a priviledge for those who have had the opportunity to interact and work with them. I am one of those priviledge ones. The country has lost a thinker as well as a crusader of energy issues. It is impossible to replace Girish - all of us could, however, pledge to replicate his hard and sincere work and carry forward his agenda. May God bless his noble souls and give strength to his family to tide over this monumental loss.

Dear Girish, the news of your demise left me puzzled and speechless. It still seems surreal and unbelievable. I thank you for giving me the chance to get to know you and the whole Prayas team and your vision of India's and the worlds future. This was the greatest luck of my stay in India. My thoughts are now with your family and friends.
Let us put now even more effort into our struggle against Climate Change and for equality in order to fulfill Girish's hope and dream of a an more equitable and just world.

I am deeply shocked to hear the news of the sudden demise of Mr. Girish Sant. I had few occasions to interact with him when he had visited KERC. His death has created a vacuum in the energy sector. Personally he was a good human being. True to his name he was a sant who had climbed the Giri [Mountain of obstacles] and became the Esha [Leader] in the sector. I pray to almighty to rest his soul in peace and also give strength to every one at Prayas to bear this great loss

It was a shocking news for us, something unbelievable. Girish Sant was one of the rare genre who are kind, caring, humane, intelligent and working tirelessly to achieve the goals. We pray that God gives strength to your family to bear the loss.
